Academic and Research Interests
Dr. Rosen’s research program focuses on applying clinical psychological science to develop interventions that decrease racial/cultural bias and existent health disparities. His published works have focused on multicultural psychology, social justice in mental health, American Jewish identity, and the experiences of individuals with disabilities. His interests extend to the areas of health psychology and behavioral medicine, and the integration of psychology into a model of whole person healthcare delivery.

Current Research Studies
The aim of his current research is to develop and evaluate a clinical workshop-style intervention to promote culturally responsive clinical care. The project is part of a larger body of research seeking to dismantle racial health inequities and disparities.

Past Experience
Dr. Rosen was the founding co-director of the Daniel K. Church Center for Social Justice & Diversity at Bastyr University (2014-2020). He founded the non-profit organization AWARE in 2000 with the mission of enhancing the effectiveness of health care practitioners by providing opportunities for cross-cultural learning and exchange. Dr. Rosen also served as a research fellow and consultant at the Center for Multicultural Mental Health Research at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School prior to joining the Bastyr faculty.
