Current Roles

Dr. Liu is a professor in the Department of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University, and is on the clinical faculty at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. He has a private practice in Seattle and has been a medical consultant in Europe for two years.

Education

  • MD from Luzhou Medical School, China, in 1982
  • Master's degree in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine from Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine, Sichuan, P.R. China, in 1985
  • Resident at the teaching hospitals of Luzhou Medical School and Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine

Awards

Dr. Liu received Seattle Metropolitan magazine's 2008 Top Doctors Golden Stethoscope Award.

Classes Taught

TCM techniques, TCM Therapeutics, Chinese Materia Medica and Formulations, Qi Gong.

Interests

Dr. Liu's interests include acupuncture; Qi Gong and herbal treatment for pain; gynecological, pediatric and psychological disorders; restoration of qi and the channeling of qi.

Philosophy

Dr. Liu believes in the balance of yin and yang and the free flow of qi in the treatment of painful conditions, pediatric and gynecological disorders.
