Caitlin Dzikon, Ph.D.

Biography

Dr. Dzikon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling & Health Psychology. She teaches a variety of courses in the MA and undergraduate programs as well as being involved in student advising, curriculum development, clinical supervision and research.

Dr. Dzikon began her career focused on neuropsychology and blind rehabilitation, working with patients with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and chronic illnesses effecting the brain and/or eyes. She has extensive experience in hospitals, including providing inpatient treatment for TBI and spinal cord injury. Clinically, Dr. Dzikon has seen the importance of health behaviors such as exercise, nutrition, and sleep in caring for the brain. Thus, she is passionate about health psychology and helping students learn mind-body approaches.

Dr. Dzikon is an active teacher who uses her neuropsychology background to help students actively engage with course material in ways that maximize learning. She is passionate about teaching and cares deeply about each students’ success. She conducts research related to her clinical work and welcomes student involvement in research as another way to learn about health psychology.

Dr. Dzikon was a collegiate athlete and remains active now, spending much of her free time running and hiking, as well as playing with her daughter.
