Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Food, and Exercise

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Food, and Exercise integrates the sciences of whole foods nutrition and exercise. The curriculum qualifies graduates to apply for certification by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. These national certifications will increase the success of graduates seeking employment with a bachelors degree. Start your career immediately upon graduation or pursue graduate training.

Program Highlights

Eligibility to Earn Professional Certifications Graduates. are eligible for a number of professional certifications including the American college of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist® (ACSM-EP) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). These certifications provide a competitive edge in the job market.

Planning for Graduate School? The BS Nutrition, Food and Exercise Program provides excellent preparation for graduate programs in exercise science and nutrition including MSNDPD and Ph.D. Graduates of the program also have most of the prerequisites for professional programs including physical therapy and medicine. Students receive excellent faculty advising and mentoring to prepare for their next step.

A Community Like No Other. Bastyr/s 51-acre campus and the adjacent 316-acre Saint Edward State Park offer athletic fields and miles of hiking, running, and biking trails, as well as access to Lake Washington . Students progress through the program as a cohort and have an opportunity to build community and life-long relationships.
